    randomly missing??????

I had to replace my crank position sensor recently, about a week after the install at random times from cold start to highway driving the car will start missing, and the idle will go from good to about 400rmp and missing again, its very frustrating, the crank sensor I got came off of a great running car and is the same part number, it also came from a reliable local source......

    please help

An old, used, crank sensor is a gamble. Replace it with a new OE part.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Agreed new OEM Cps is the best bet even aftermarket ones that are new have issues. But to start check out the wiring from the Cps and make sure it isn't rubbing on anything up front from coming out of its hold down clips.

Yes, get a new CPS and while your at it, do a valve adjustment while your at it.
