Crank but no spark. electrical humming

I was messing with the crank positing censor wire and the other wire on the front of the timing cover.. the conduit on one of the wires... not sure which.. cracked.. but the two wires inside seemed okay and i taped it up for protection

now car cranks but will not start. no spark. i thought the battery was dead so i started charging it but was on and off getting this buzzing noise from the elctrical system... did i fry something?? maybe the wire for the cps just broke and now its not reading?? my friends dad was there and looked at the plugs while i cranked it but no sparkk...

im supposed to be shipping my car and moving in a couple weeks so i am bugging out and just trying to figure this out....

    any advice??

    thanks!

Did you unplug the other plug right next to where the cps connects to the harness? If you had them both unplugged, you could've gotten them backwards when you reattached them because they're exactly the same connector. Otherwise, the cps wire probably cracked.

the buzzing is likely your iac valve. It's normal.

    edit: I always assume it's an m20b25

      its an m20b25...

is it worth trying to splice a new piece into the wire for cps or just get a new one...

New ones are cheap enough. But really swap the two connectors first and just try that.

          okay

i dont think its that because i never disconnected the cps and i had the car starting until i messed with those wires todayy

i bought new plastic clips but i broke them trying to put that wire cover on.. it was really cold so the plastic was probably more brittle ..

            okay

replaced the cps. still no start.

brand new cap, rotor, coil, wires.. the car started with all these parts a few days ago...

will the oil pressure sensor being faulty cut spark?

what should i look at next??

check the fuse on the positive to the battery...

Test power to the coil. Make sure your getting 12v to it.

Check the gap between cps and toothed wheel. It should be 1mm IIRC

try this. If you get 12v put a test light on the coil while cranking. If no the test light doesn't flash change out ecu for a known working one
