So I live in colorado as the last several days it's been negative temperatures at night and 0-2 degrees in the day. But I go out to start my car today and the thing just didn't want to come to life, the motor was just spinning along with the starter. Finally I could let go of the key and it sounded like it was going to die, it wasn't idling pretty much at all. I push the gas, nothing happens. I push the clutch in and the motor comes right to normal idle speed. I pull the clutch out (in neutral) it dies. Start it up again with the clutch in and wait for 10 seconds and then when I pull the clutch out this time the motor stays at idle. What is going on here? Should I do a crank sensor? I've been meaning to do that! Adjust the valves? Injectors? Plugs? Oh and gas must have come out of somewhere because it was a pretty strong smell.

Sounds like normal cold start issues; there probably isn't a real "problem" with the car. Oil with a thick viscosity, the cold making the fuel harder to combust, colder air being more dense and affecting A/F ratios can all cause hard starting on cold motors.
