yet another "idles fine but no power/stumbles "

so....i haven't had an m20 do this before.

i just picked up an e30 cheap that doesn't run right. it idles fine. but beyond idle, it stumbles and dies and backfires. perhaps above 1200rpm, it all goes to hell. i have a peak scanner, and the code comes up #16 which is idle control circuit or something like that. i also throws another second random code that isn't even in the book(the second code is different every time)

i replaced the idle control valve several times with used ones i have laying around from parts cars. normally, when the ignition is turned to the "on" position, the icv will buzz. on this car, none of them buzz. there is no fuse for this component(i checked all the fuses and they are all good anyway)

i checked the etm, it appears two wires go directly to the dme and the other to the main relay.

i was wondering if anyone has had something like this come up?

i have changed out the fuel pressure regulator and the afm to no avail.

i do have an extra dme and main relay, etc.

T off the fuel, and get a reading to make sure its not fuel related. Also look in gas tank for rust, my eta used stumble and die when I first bought it had to clean everything fuel related.
