    What thermostat to buy

    Should I go with the 80'C one or what one should I go with?

    what motor? does your car run a little on the hot side now? oem is 88c i believe, but i run a 80c thermostat in my 24v with a 318i rad.

      Get the one designed for your motor. If its overheating you have other issues. A lower thermostat isnt going to make your car run cooler

        Its bad. My car just says it runs really low in temperature Like in the blue

              Get yourself an infrared thermostat They are cheap and you should have one. Point it at the upper rad inlet (not the hose) and measure actual temp when fully warm. Gauges arent always accurate due to grounds etc etc

                Whatever stock is, 88? If it runs in the blue then there is a possibility your thermostat is stuck open, so bravo for replacing it regardless.

                  I always... ALWAYS... run stock temp thermostat.

                  As Blunt said if your car is heating up you have other issues.

                  My turbo M20 doesn't heat up one bit on a 100 degree SoCal day.

                    An 80C thermostat would be the stock part for an M20 and is the best choice.
