M20 starts up and dies if not given gas?

    M20 starts up and dies if not given gas?

    I'll start up the E30 and it'll run for about 3 seconds then shuts off if not fed gas. Its a constant thing, I always need to feed it or shuts off.

    Could be many things. Iac is my first guess. Timing issues, fuel pressure are second on my list to check.

      I think it may be the fuel pump, I'm going to get it replaced.

        The first thing I'd want to check for would be intake leaks, which a smoke test would find. Next, or along side, I'd clean the ICV and make sure that the idle switch in the TPS is presenting a signal to the DME.
        The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

          I'm having the same issue he's having. Thanks for the info, I'll check that out personally tonight.
