This has been going on since I bought the car nearly a year ago, but now that it's starting to get colder in the mornings again, I want to finally take care of this issue. When starting my car, I need to keep my foot part way on the throttle or else it will stall out. The RPMs don't go any higher than regular idle, as they should on a cold start, so I essentially need to do that job myself. Once it warms up a bit, the car idles just fine and gives me no issues. During the coldest months of the year, it becomes quite a nuisance, as i have to sit in the car on the throttle until the car is able to idle on its own before I can go anywhere. I'm assuming this is just a bad sensor or possibly a vacuum leak, but a push in the right direction would be much appreciated!

Idle control valve. Clean it. Then report back. It's free and might work.Originally posted by Andy.BWhenever I am about to make a particularly questionable decision regarding a worryingly cheap diy solution, I just ask myself, "What would Ether-D do?"
