I have a 1986 eta car and the motor gave out on me so i picked up a 1989 325i vert and swapped everything over, there are some problems i'm running into though. First on the eta radiator there are two sensors and on the "i" radiator theres only one, my problem is that i don't know which wires to plug up to the "i" radiator. Also in the glove box the "i" wiring harness has a white and black connector that i heard need to be plugged up to the old plug my only problem is that the eta connector has only three wires a black, green, and yellow wire, the 89 "i" connectors have five wires. i an throughly confused and i need help please.

Your ETA (or early 325is) routed the tachometer, econometer, and DME Start signal through the three pin connector. Cars built from 9/87 on routed those through C101. Which is why you can find a connected on the engine harness to match.
You have two choices. One would be to graft the missing connector from your ETA harness onto the 89 engine harness. The better approach is to rewire the car side and add those wires to C101.The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
