    enging shudder and vibrations

So my engine developed a vibration I can't pin down.

It started just after I replaced the driveshaft and transmission mounts. It doesn't seem to be an issue with the driveshaft, because if I rev the engine in neutral there is a bit of engine vibration around the 2K rpm range. It seems to be more noticeable when the engine rpms slowing. So if I rev it up I feel more shuddering after taking my foot off of the accelerator.

So far what I've done is ensure the DS and trans mounts were installed correctly, which they were. Then I did a valve adjustment just to make sure they still had the right clearances, they did. I had a new distributor cap and rotor waiting to go in so I replaced that. The old one looked bad but there was still no change to the engine vibrations.

At this point, I'm not positive where to go. I'll probably run a compression test, to see if one cylinder is drastically different from the others. If anyone has an idea as to what it might be I'm listening.

Could it be my dual mass flywheel going bad? Pilot bearing? Timing belt getting worn?

maybe just look at the motor mounts. ive ripped old ones in half while messing with transmission mounts and driveshafts.
