long start issue after sitting, please help

ok so the car is an 89 325is all stock engine/ecu. every time the car sits for more than 45mins- an hour it takes about 5 seconds of cranking before it will start again. if you shut it off right after you start it, it will start right away like its supposed to. sometimes it will smell a little rich for a second right after startup but no excessive smoke. other than that it runs fine with no issues. so far I have replaced the fuel pressure regulator and installed a check valve in the fuel supply line by the pump. not sure what to do next but i have a blue temp sensor on the way so we'll see if that works. Any ideas on what this could be?

Elbows go into the throttle body can be loose when the engine gets hot.

Do a smoke test when your engine is nice and hot.

Check your fuel lines. They are over 20 yrs old and have many cracks. You can get replacement fuel line from Blunt or use any 5/8 fuel injection hose.
