I'm curious as to why you need a "better" radiator? Stock really does a great job.
If you did want to upgrade there are options but in my opinion you're just spending more money with little benefit. If your car is a late model you can use any aluminum E36 fitment radiator. It will be a direct fit to an E30 M20 car with the late cooling system. The OEM Z3M (or is it Z4M?) radiator is also an upgrade.
I've owned BMWs most of my life & their cooling system is one of their weak points. Combining plastic & metal on their radiators & other parts of the cooling system is a design flaw.
Pretty much every radiator made since 1992 has been plastic and aluminum, so I'd hardly call that a design flaw. It it were then 95% of the cars on the road would be ready to explode.
Though I will agree that the type of plastic used in the cooling systems of most German cars in the '90s was crap. Once it heat cycles for ten years or so it gets super brittle.
