Weird noises on start-up (Video inside)

M20 has been making weird noises on start up. It's also been draining the battery when it rains (perfectly charged when dry though). Rainy season is here and I've pretty much needed to jump/bump start my car every morning

Been getting pretty tired of it

Obviously something's not right: there is a loud whine on start-up and a metal hissing-scraping coming from the alternator area when cold, but will go away after a drive/when hot

    Any help would be awesome

It sounds like you just need a new alternator belt.

same noise from mine on cold starts...annoying. I hope to find out through this post what it is exactly

Found that my no-start issue after a rain might just be a cold start issue that was barely arriving from the battery; luckily it's still in warranty so I can get a new one

              Confirmed

Had someone start the car while I listened to the engine
Starter is definitely on it's way out

No start/battery drain issue was traced to ABS relay wiring. Fixed issue; Car was draining at .5A, but is now draining at .02A which is close to stock power drain.
