    M20B20 to M20B25 swap

First of all, my apologies if this should have been posted in the Swap Forum.

I'm based in Asia and I've got an 87 320i (Japan version) with a tired M20B20 and Getrag 240 that I'm turning into my daily driver. It seems that swapping in a warmed over M20B25 is the most cost-effective way of getting me where I want to get.

I'm planning to get heads, 274 cams, MAF, 17 lb injectors, etc. Nothing too crazy. I'm hoping to re-use the tranny. Will it hold up?

How complex will the swap be?? Is there any specific B25 engine I should be looking for? How "complete" should the donor engine be? Should I make sure to get all the accessories or will the stuff from my B20 work fine?

RealOEM says that I have a 4.27 small case open diff. Too much?

I'll have to get most of the parts for the swap in the US and have them shipped to Asia so I'd like to shop & ship everything in one go.

with all honesty, sell it and buy another car. the cost/time vs buying a motronic car will be about the same and it will be a better car. not to mention all the other issues with 87 cars. just get an 88+ 325i and be done with that car.
    Much wow
    I hate 4 doors

After 6+ months of looking, I've concluded that most of the cars imported here were early 320i automatic sedans. In fact, the car I ended up with is the only manual tranny coupe I saw all that time I was looking.
