1986 325ES no power to the coil

Added crankshaft and speed sensors today ( they were missing) hoping to get spark, nothing… Coil does not get any power, At this point not sure what to check.

also looks like Alarm and Stereo system was installed at the some point I see some wires that were spliced and put together where colors do not much... possibly preventing power to coil. Freaking mess! I will post solution after I get it figured out.

Sounds like a good chance the alarm system remnants may be cutting the 12V to the coil. I'd definitely recommend spending some time under your dash and surgically removing anything that is associated with the alarm system. Splice the original harness wires back together with quality connectors.

Old alarms can do funny (not) things to these cars.

The electrical portion of the ignition switch could be another possibility.

Do you have access to the Electrical Troubleshooting Manual (ETM) for your car?

I still have mess with bad splices which will need to be addressed. I am sure it will be some interesting surprises there. Found ETA for my car should be great help :)

Congratulations on getting the car running!

That small fuse block where the fuse was missing is an auxiliary fuse block. On a factory car with no modifications, its just a spot to wire in accessories. One fuse is 12V switched and one is constant 12V. None of the factory installed items run through it.

If your car starts after replacing one of those fuses I'd bet your alarm system may have been wired through it. Keep tracing and correcting that wiring!
