The Definitive Check Engine Dash Light Guide

Every once in a while the check engine light on the dash appears. It happens intermittently and not every time I drive. Turns on for a minute, and then turns off. The engine is mechanically sound and there are no known issues.

I would like to put together a list triggers which set off the check engine light on the dash. Low oil pressure I believe is one of them.

low oil pressure will Not turn on the check engine light ,just look at a list of codes the DME can generate to know what will trigger check engine light

low oil pressure will only turn the oil pressure lamp on in the cluster
