Use stock box with a hose and connect the hose to the headlight.

I am going to use this intake, but i live in indiana and it is a daily driver so i am afraid of water draining in.

If you're worried about water coming in, don't put your intake in your headlight... Simple.

Most air filters have been treated with oil to prevent water from entering the intake; however, if you have your hose where the headlight is then you will be sucking in a lot of water. I don't think any filter can handle that much water.

              use your stock airbox.
Anything else will be a loss of Horse Power.

The setup your wanting to do is usually a "race" only setup. Most of those guys never drive in the rain or if they do it's not very much. There will be no way to stop water from coming in completely unless a deflector of some kind is used. But then you will lose the "ram" air feature of the design.

This application is usually race only. But if you are doing it for aesthetics then use the stock box like mentioned.

Waste of time. Been there and went back to stick box and drop in filter.

If your dead set on it you can fab up a perforated cover for it that you can place on the outside when it rains (like KC uses for their lights) it would have to be slit down so water couldn't readily pass through but air could. But if you ever forgot to put it on 1 day then you will have an engine full of water :(

Okay, I'll bite... Unless you manage to drive through a monsoon I don't think water in the intake will cause any motor damage. Perhaps it'll damage your AFM, but that's probably about the extent of issues you could case with some water on your air filter.

With that said, in almost all applications, cone filter intakes result in a loss of horsepower.

Stick with the stock box - it's already a CAI. Doubt you'll do much better with any other setup.

Agree just replace the stock snorkel with a longer 3 in. Tube and velocity stack. keep the stock box and use a drop in filter
