My car is supposed to be an '87 325(no e) which should make it a regular eta. I was looking through the owners manual yesterday, and it listed the horsepower at 127 and the compression at 8.5:1. I believe that these are the super eta specs. I had a look at the build date which is 06/87. This strikes me as a little early to be an '88 model, but not by much. I don't know how BMW handles model year separation, but I believe that generally the new cars come out during the summer. Is there any way to tell if what I have is an eta or a super eta with out taking the engine apart?

To make a normal Eta a SuperEta you'd have to change the pistons on your bottom end. For that, you may as well make a stroker with custom pistons.
I ahve SuperEta pistons and rods for sale if anyone is interested?- Sean Hayes
