    Starts and dies immediately

    '90 e325i

The last two times I've driven my car enough to get up to full temp, then let my car sit for 5 to 10 minutes, it will not start. I crank it and it fires for maybe 1 second, stumbling, then dies. It will repeatedly do this as many times as I try to start it. Giving it throttle does not help.

This started a few days ago, and it just so happens I put a new temp sensor in it that day. It is a new Bosch unit, but it may be defective. I'm going to try a different one.

In the mean time, does anyone have any other ideas? O2 sensor is fairly new. Fuel pump is less than 2 years old. Fuel filter is a little over 2 years old.

Unplug the sensor and see if you have the same problem starting.

LOL, very good point, guess it was too early in the morning for me to think of that.

When it no started again I jumped the fuel pump relay and the pump did not kick on. Turns out the plastic connector for power/ground on the fuel pump broke and it wasn't making a good connection. Very odd that it did not stop running while I was driving and only did it when I was stopped. Zip tied it back on for now, will replace the connector soon.
