How many fuel pumps should my 1986 325es have? I know I have one in the tank but I have heard that some e30s have an 2, one in the tank and one outside the tank.

Since I have a similar question for my 1986 ES and this thread is here, what would the difference be between the two fuel pumps in mine and a super eta pair? Are there any models with interchangeable fuel pumps to an early eta? Would a cheapo in theory be able to get away with just throwing on a good main pump from the SETA?
