    Crank Speed/Crank reference style swap

Pulled a 1986 325es harness for my 1985 325e and there is a difference in the style for the crank speed and crank reference sensors. I cut and spliced the old bellhousing style onto the 86 harness and stupidly forgot to label which one was which so now I won't know which one will go into which position. I know there is a color coding and a ring on the sensor itself but I may or may not(50% chance) have switched which sensor went to which on the harness. If Install the harness and put the wrong sensor in the wrong spot, will something really bad happen or will it just not run?

The latter. It will just not run.
