    weird overheating issue

so my temp gauge has been reaching the 3/4 mark while sitting in traffic and driving around town, but when i get on the freeway, or go 45mph or above, everything cools down. Also, if im driving around town and blast the heater it doesnt over heat.

Im suspecting the fan clutch, so i will test that tomorrow, but just wanted to see if anyone has ran into any of the same issues.

    thanks
    Chris

It's too early not to be nice so I'll give you the answer...yes, it's the fan clutch. You are going to get a lot of "not-too-nice" comments about this post later in the day.

        thanks.

today was a lot different. the car started getting hot at high speeds as well. I had replaced the expansion tank recently and flushed the radiator, because there was no coolant flowing through the little "pee hole" things were good up until recently it started over heating again.
