    sputtering/dying under load 110+ temps

I just drove from San Diego to Lake Havasu, several hours of driving in 110+ temps. I almost got to Havasu when the car started sputtering at anything other than idle. I let it cool off and it ran ok again, but another 30 min later and its doing similar. It will mostly idle and handle light load, but a little more throttle or a lower gear and it sputters. I thought fuel pump, my BMW mechanic roomate thinks AFM. Anyone have any ideas what it could be, or my best bet for getting back to SD tomorrow? Should i just cut my trip short and try to leave very early morning, and hope i can get back to SD before it gets too hot? Thanks for any insight.

See if the CPS bracket came a little loose and backed off the CPS.
My car wasn't able to rev passed 3.5k -4k or so because of this.

You wouldn't happen to have another e30 around you to swap parts with for testing, would you?

I think you have vacuum leaks when the engine gets hot. Check the aluminum elbows that go into the throttle body. They tend to come loose with a hot engine.
