What is this hose on the tank do? Vent?

What is the hose left of the pump that is actually connected to the tank doing? When I am in wide open throttle it pushes itself out and leaks. The tube coming off my tank is like jb weld from the owner before me.

Are you talking about the larger diameter hose with the braided cover? Yes, its a vent/overflow line. Don't know its effected by the throttle though.

Yes, the only one you can see that is JUST to the tank not the others on the fuel pump cap or whatever. Would've circled it if I knew how, sorry. The little tube coming off the tank that the hose slips on is pretty nasty on my tank like rotted maybe. Because there is some kind of gasket maker the owner before put on so it's not holding up. I actually had the car die out on me while driving and when I shoved it in/on more it ran fine. Do you think it would change fuel pressure if loose? I came to the conclusion it does because it died on me and fuel was coming from it. Any more info would be great! Thanks

That shouldn't change your fuel pressure. Have you pulled the fuel pump assembly out? Could be an intermittent pump or dirty strainer.

I have a 255lph I have been meaning to put in. Might as well put that in while a jb weld part where that vent hose is. Thanks
