What is #1 and what's it do?

it's called the Oil spray bar. it's inside of the valve cover, in the head. it sprays oil over the head components.

Thanks. That's what I assumed it did, but then I was googling the part number and I kept seeing stuff that said "breather pipe" and it didn't make any sense to me.
