Alright so i've been replacing parts left and right on this 89 325is coupe i have, I have replaced fuel pump, ignition coil, injectors from stock to 19lb with MarkD 91 chip, Spark plugs, plug wires.. All in hopes to fix a misfire problem i was having at ~3-4k rpms.. it ended up being the least suspected cracked spark plug
the car was running absolutely perfectly besides the loud rod knock/piston slap that i have to do this winter.. I pulled into Lowes to get a new spark plug socket and when i came back out to my surprise i start my car up just fine, but the car revs up and then back down to idle but instead of idling it just drops to zero rpm and stalls... did this like 5 times, the only way i was able to get the car running was to hold the gas and put in first and go, after that the car idle'd fine.
I took the car on a decently long trip ~45mins into downtown for a concert, drove fine down.. but when i was getting closer to the city, it would stall at every light. You push the clutch in at any speed and the RPM's just drop to zero and stall. It has absolutely zero idle.
Now, i have got the car home and its parked currently. You can start it and it will actually hold an idle.. but its like 200 rpm.. then 1000, then 200, etc. When it drops down to the lower rpm's the engine shakes and sounds like its going to stall. I've read that it might possibly be a MAF, Vacuum leak? I've replaced the MAF with a newer known working on trying to fix the previous problem i was having.. Mine doesn't seem to be bad.
Any thoughts?
