Help: how to loosen ac compressor to remove belt?

I have checked bentley manual and a few writeups but my ac compressor doesnt seem to budge to let me take the belt off. Im wondering if im missing any bolts that need to be loosened or removed.

I have the tension bolt completely removed and the pinion bolt loosened so the bottom tension bracket has come off. The mounting bolt on top of the compressor is also loosened. what am i missing? At first I thought it was just the sludge of this old engine keeping parts stuck together but ive wacked it lightly with a hammer and it still doesnt move so I figure I have to have missed something.

To be precise: are there only three bolts that need to be loosened to allow the ac belt to come off??

Use a screwdriver to help pry it off while you crank the motor. Careful not to damage the pulley.

Correct, 3 bolts: Upper bolt that the compressor pivots on. Lower adjusting plate swivel bolt and adjusting bolt (the 17mm with gear teeth).

Try a pry bar to shift it or whack it harder with a length of hardwood and a BFH. Some PB Blaster on the upper pivot bolt might help.

      - don't try moving/adjusting it with the geared adjuster until it moves freely or the gears teeth on the adjusting plate will just strip off.

        AC Belt

Make sure you have the right size. A lot of companies spec out a belt size of 13x810 that is too short. The correct size is 13x825.
