87 m20 with poor fuel mileage - 19mpg

    I guess I should have been more specific....if we're talking eta models, then I could possibly see 30 mpg from a m20B27....sorry, I said m20, just thinking about the 2.5i motor...my bad.

      Mine is an M20 and the engine is barely broken in at 118k. When I lived in Madison, WI, I averaged about 25 mpg with a mix of highway and city driving. I can get 29 mpg on the highway driving from Madison to Chicago if I could use cruise control 80% of the time; otherwise, 27 mpg on the highway is typical. Now, I get about 22 - 24 mpg mostly for city driving.
