    e30 engine harness

So long story short I bought an e30 and its had hesitation and idle issues, I've replaced almost everything in the idle control system and I took it to a local shop and they told me to replace the wiring from the fuel injectors to the ecu. I think i'm just going to replace the whole entire engine harness, which harnesses would fit? It's a 173 ecu m20b25. Does any harness fit or do you have to use the same year and same transmission for the harness swap?

There was a change in the injector harness configuration at some point...early cars had thr injector harness built into the engine harness, whereas later cars used a separate injector harness connected to the engine harness with a round plug. There are also differences if you have an eta with sensors in the bellhousing. Non-eta cars have no connections to the manual tranny. I have no idea if it has an auto trans.

Check the plug at the union of the injector harness to the loom if you can't source a problem. It's often full of corrosion and/or gunk, sometimes it's even perished.

It's the round plug under the inlet manifold. Injector loom is the same for auto and manual. If you have a 173 ECU it should be a motronic 1.3 car, making it a later one, so I would expect it has the separate injector harness.
Just a little project im working on
