    Starter grinding after single mass flywheel conversion

    I recently changed the clutch on my seta and ended up going with a single mass flywheel. I looked up starter part #'s and the starter was the same for the seta and 325i. Do I need a new starter here?

    Starter looks to be slightly ground on the edge, no damage to flywheel. http://imgur.com/rqO4yw5

      I forgot to put the metal plate between the transmission and motor, it caused the starter to shift. I have the car up and running, except for the proformance chip.

        Maybe you can add some washer on the starter instead of going to take everything apart again

          I just dropped the trans and wiggled the plate inside, running pretty smoothly now.
