    87 325is intermittent start

Just as the title states, my car will intermittently start. There will be no crank/no click/no start for a few turns of the key, and then it will randomly start. This only happens after the car sits overnight. If I go to a gas station, the car will start right back up every time. I'm kinda confused. Is this more likely a relay or a solenoid? I've never had this happen to me before.

Explain the problem in more detail. Does it crank for a while then start once it starts cranking? By "going to the gas station" basically you are saying it starts fine when warm every time?

To me it sounds like a connection to the starter issue/ shitty battery terminal connections/corrosion/loose and also maybe a fuel delivery problem as well. It obviously could be a gremlin but battery terminals/starter would be the first thing I would check for the no cranking part of the issue.

Update the first post with more exact details though

So it was actually just the battery. Had a bad cell and was only at ~10.5v.

But yea, so the car would start if it was warm. Probably because the battery didn't have time to discharge so far down. But if it was sitting for a few hours, I would try to start it and the dash and everything would light up, but there would be nothing. No crank, no tick from the solenoid, nothing. Then after trying to start it a few times it would randomly start up like there was no issue.

It's actually been doing this for a few days and I checked the battery 2 or 3 times... But it was always right after driving for 30-40 miles. I feel pretty stupid but at least it's fixed
