    M20 320i parts

    Hi guys in new here and bought a e30.

    I love the car

    But i have to do an engine overhaul

    Keeping stock head

    Im looking at a shrick 272/272

    My engine has a 80mm bore and 60 stroke

    Im looking for some pistons but cant find anything other then the oem mahle pistons


    Running ms1

    And im also looking for a good but cheap oil pump any sugestions??

    Also im looking at the crankshaft bearings and they have colour codes and i have no idea what they mean

    Generally speaking there isn't much done to M20B20s because the 2.5L has more potential gains. Unless there is something wrong with your pistons you are probably best keeping them and saving the money. That said, you might be able to find a set of used early m20b20 pistons that are 9.8:1 compression instead of the later 8.8:1 compression ones.

    Can't help you much on the camshaft as not much of an expert on those.

    As for the oil pump, I don't see why you wouldn't keep a stock oil pump. Generally most of the oil control issues seem to be from track cars and even then a crank scraper and/or an oil pan baffle seem to fix most of those issues.

    Personally, an M20B25 isn't too difficult to find (at least where I live) and will be a better way to make power cheaply if that is your goal. Otherwise I'd rebuild the existing motor and enjoy what you have - I have an M20B20 also and while it isn't exactly a rocketship the motor is alright for what it is.
