M20 Running Worse (CEL 1222) After Replaced IM Gasket, Injectors, Valve Timing

    Hey Guys,

Hoping some one can give me a bit of advice here.

Last Night I replaced the following:
    1) Intake Manifold Gaskets
    2) Fuel Injectors (New from ECS)
    3) Valve Cover Gaskeet
    4) Coolant Temperature Sensor
    5) Fuel Pump
    6) Fuel Filter

    Also did:
    5) Valve Timing adjustment (Most were pretty good, adjusted some that felt a bit loose to be a bit tigher/draggier - but it was hard to tell when exactly the cam lobe was at the bottom - felt like there was multiple places that you can adjust it at when you can't see the cam)

Anyways, put everything back together, started up after a couple cranks once the fuel rail got pressurized from the recently empty lines.

    But NOW:
    1) Loud tick from engine (New Injectors? Or Bad Valve Timing adjustment by me?
    2) Sounds a little bit rougher idle
    3) I get a CEL only if sitting at IDLE, goes away after driving then comes back if sit still and idle

Is there a best way I can diagnos this? I know 1222 Code refers to a couple things I replaced, but I really hope I don't have to take off the manifold again (I did not replace the bitch tube seals - was not prepared and did not know about it). It would really suck if the injectors were bad or somehow not installed properly. Seemed pretty straight forward by popping the old ones out, putting new ones in with new retaining rings and then assembling back to the Manifold and Fuel Rail.
