Intermittent vibration , not sure how to diagnose

    Hello

Recently my 87 325 has started have episodes of intense vibration that sound as if they are coming from beneath the floor boards of the rear seats. The level of vibration is similar to a flat tire , but it definitely feels like it’s coming from behind the driver somewhere.

It’s happened twice so far when going about 35 mph on curvy roads and has stopped after about 10 seconds usually when I stop the car.

I’ve replaced the giubo recently but I didn’t check the center support bearing.

Does this sound like a driveshaft issue ? If so is there anything else I can do safely to diagnose ? drive shafts aren’t cheap so if there are other things I can investigate I’d like to do that first.

    Any suggestions welcomed.

My guess would be center support bearing or rear u-joint. Strange that it comes and goes unless when you loaded it up it shifted one or the other.
