Engine turns over but doesn't start!!

I had this same problem for months!! Last week I just replaced the fuel pump and that same night it started right up! Now it is doing he same thing it was doing prior to the fuel pump replacement. It will crank and will run for 1.5 seconds and turn off or just won't turn on at all.

Any ideas what it might be?

Which fuel pump did you use? If it is AirTex, that might be the problem. Tee in a fuel gauge and monitor the pressure when cranking. Also, verify that you actually have fuel pumping through the system. Keep this in mind when troubleshooting the problem:

Start = Fuel + Air + Spark + compression

Missing any of the above components will not result in a start.
