    1984 325e no start!HELP!! PLEASE

OK guys I'm new to BMW's. I just bought a 1984 BMW 325e. It was driving fine for 3 days. Went to my girl friends house turned it off for back in it 5mins later it would crank but not start. We let it sit for about 45mins it started back up. Drove it home an the next morning woke up for work went out an it just cranks but not start. It's getting fuel an the coil has power. I need help I need my car running so I can get back an forth to work.

From my experience, an intermittent no crank no start ends up being the fuel pump. Do you have access to a fuel pressure gauge?

Also, you want to check for spark at the ignition wire.

The previous owner just replaced the fuel pump right before I bought it last week. It's getting fuel an is get power at the coil. I'm think coolant temp sensor or crank shaft position sensor

Those are not intermittent break down items, generally.

So what would you think? Just don't make sense to me. It ran fine then all of a sudden just stops. It's definitely getting fuel. You can smell the gas after cranking it

It may be the crank sensor, that's why you're going to need to pop off a spark plug wire, put a plug in it and see if you're getting spark.

            Always remember

            Spark
            Fuel
            Compression

Check which one is not there; it will help you diagnose the car more efficiently

It's not only getting spark at the coil
