After my M20 bit the dust, I decided to go out and purchase another engine. I drive an 86 325es, and the engine I pulled was from an 87 528e. I figured both would be similar enough, but it turns out that I was wrong. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the square plug came on early models and the round plug came on later models. This is where things get odd. The 87' has a square plug and a 3 row ecu. The 86' has a round plug and a 2 row ecu. What's the best plan going forward?
