My 325e might have jumped time

I recently purchased an E30 325e and the previous owner tried to start it without a timing belt. What could be the solution to this? Whole new engine or could it be something simple. Went for hours and hours trying to find similar topics and no dice.

Would like to know before I drop 700 on a motor.
