    M20B20 to M20B23 conversion

    I have a euro 320i, and i am looking into stroking it from a 2.0 to a 2.3.
The block (80mm) and head (731) are the same, and i know that all i need is the B23 crank and pistons to stroke the B20. Rods are the same.

    But that about the ECU?
    Both cars are PFL L-jetronic.

I've searched and searched, and i simply can't find the answer.

I do not see a reason why it would be an issue, this is a very minor stroke.

The only part the electronics are doing in the Jetronic ECU is fuel timing, the rest is mechanical. Larger displacement should cause greater volume of air, which the AFM should see, resulting in proper fueling.

I know the first two production years for E30 320 and 323 cars used the same ECU part number.

Just curious, if you're going through this effort, why not go for at least M20B25 specs?
