Gap between fuel injector cap, o-ring, and spacer?

Hey guys, I removed my fuel injectors to clean up the gunk around their holes in the intake manifold. I bought new seals and caps and stuff off ebay here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-Injecto...9/292393128249

So, I put the new spacer, seal, and cap on... and there's a lot of space between the 3 parts. The pintle cap also spins in place. The cap is on as tight as it will go.

So what's the deal- does this look okay? Are these pieces the wrong size?

Another question- I didn't bother to lube up the o-rings or anything. As long as I'm here asking questions, I might as well ask, is that step absolutely necessary?

Okay guys I am just going to order new o-rings and pintle caps. These ebay o-rings are thinner than some of the factory ones, so that has to explain it there. But I don't trusts these pintle caps either.

I'm going to get o-rings off Pelican Parts so I know they're OEM.

But Pelican Parts doesn't sell pintle caps. I didn't realize you can't buy these independently. So I can only get them from aftermarket sites.

Going to buy these and hope for the best:

Well... I ordered OEM BMW o-rings, and they're just as thin as the eBay ones.

I guess I'm going to re-use the old injector seals :(

I just have to bump this again because this is the last issue holding up me putting my car back together.

Can anybody chime in and answer this question: Does this fuel injector look okay, with the gaps between the o-ring and cap? Is this safe to install into my car?

If not, suggestions? I've ordered two sets of new o-rings from different sources, and they're both thinner than the old o-rings. Can anybody recommend some pintle caps?

What year is your car? I would think those O rings would seal. When you seat the injectors into the fuel rail and intake manifold they are nice and tight and held down firmly with the rail bolts. You can go ahead and put your engine back together and still service the injectors. Hopefully you’ve discovered how to handle the bitch tube and have new O rings for it.
