325e charcoal canister/ fuel return hardline

So I’m new to e30s and I just got a 325e that doesn’t run.. put a battery, turn on power, all the fuel dumps straight through the canister. I ask around and turns out all the hoses are in the wrong place. One is supposed to go to the throttle body I believe and the other to the fuel return hardline. When I looked at the throttle body there was half a hose and a screw at the other end. Idk if they were trying to bypass it or something but it looks all wrong.

So now that Ik one line goes to the throttle body and the other to the return hardline. Correct me if I’m wrong. I have no idea where that is. I heard I have to go under the car. Please help so I can know what to look for. Pics would help

Driver's side right under the break booster.
All lines follow the frame rail

Get a Bentley manual but I’m not sure this is covered in it.

You are supposed to have a vacuum line from the throttle body to the charcoal canister.

The fuel lines come up under the brake booster, the feed line goes to the fuel injector rail, the return line goes from the pressure regulator back under the brake booster. My ‘87 also has a T in the fuel supply line that feeds the cold start injector, yours might have that too which is how you can identify the fuel supply line.

Just make sure the flow lines are in the right places and don’t mix up the vacuum lines.
