    Misfire at/around 3-4K RPM

    Need some opinions.

Recently purchased a ‘90 325ix and it’s developed a pretty nasty misfire at about 3200-4000 RPMS. Seems to misfire at WOT and even at light acceleration. Only misfires at or around 3200 though. It also seems to struggle at idle too (fluctuates around 600-1000 RPMS and just doesn’t sound right.

    Any help/opinions would be appreciated!!

Could possibly just need a good old ignition tune-up.

Also, locate the crank position sensor. Push it with your finger closer to the trigger wheel as a friend revs your motor. If it doesn't misfire, the sensor is bad.

^I have never heard of that method before

Pull each plug out and check for bad fouling, test the CPS, check the C101 connector under the intake for corrosion, and search for other threads with similar problems for other opinions and in some cases, the actual solution.
