rod knock or something else?

strange knocking noise.. can be heard in video but is much louder in reality, wonder what it is..

i guess no one knows?.. well ill take it to a mechanic today and check what they think of it.

Update: hes pretty sure noise is something from the valvetrain when i dropped off the car at the shop. . He will look more into it next wednesday so well have to see.

Hard to tell from the video, but sounds like a rocker is way out of lash.

got news today, apparently a rod bearing is trashed.. shit

most likely gonna have to do a m50 swap

My limited experience is that a higher rpm clattering knock is often rod bearings. A deep knock at idle is often crank.

yeah, definitely distinguishable now at higher rpm's that a rod bearing is busted :/ engine has alot of miles on it so it's not really a surprise but still something I wasn't expecting and sucks because it's my daily and I have to drive it to work with the knocking noise
