    M20 Rough Running

I have just completed a swap of a M20b25 engine into a 325es body. From the start the engine cranked no problem, had a perfect 700 rpm idle but accelerated poorly. In the process of troubleshooting I decided to check valve adjustment. Some valves were a little tight so I opened up the gap a bit. Started the engine again no problem, but now the engine idles at 1000 rpm and the poor acceleration is still there. Should valve adjustment have an effect on idle speed? Any ideas on the rough running?

Have you peformed any tuneup items on this engine, i.e. plugs, dist & rotor, timing belt & tensioner, water pump, etc?

    check you fuel system yet?
    check chassis ground?
