    Dying at idle HELP!!

ok, so i drove my eta for 20kms(warm engine) and when i got in town and slowed down i put the clutch in and the engine died, started it back up and kept dying whenever the clutch is in.

if i give it some gas it revs up nicely.

when i start the car the revs go up then dies, if i rev it up then slowly let it go back down to around 500rpm it will idle like normal for ten seconds or so then spudder again and die.

does anyone know what it could be? i would reallly appreciate any help
    Thanks Vic.

i am not too sure. i am a noob in most situations.

it sounds like either a fuel problem (i.e. bad fuel pump or filter or both)

        or an air problem.

the two things that make your engine go.

3 things, check spark at idle, dirty plugs or corroded dist cap or rotor

+1 on the vacuum leak. Same problem with my sisters car.

I strongly think you have a vacuum leak as well. If not, I would consider your ICV to be a likely culprit in which case it would need to be thoroughly cleaned with brakekleen.

vacuum leak. Check your intake boot. Just had the same problem with my 325. Had a tear in the intake boot and caused car to miss and die at idle.
