I have an '87 325is that I had recently replaced the rocker arm in, after it had been put all back together it wouldn't maintain a normal idle it would pitch up and down. Didn't have time to fully diag that issue at the time and let it sit for 4 weeks before I had another chance to look at it, now it cranks but will not start. Thre vehicle is getting fuel but no spark, I have pinned out the entire harness and all sensors appear to be checking within spec, checked the coil and all fuses and relays. I also changed back to the stock chip from my Conforti chip and made no difference. One thing that I did notice that after cranking the engine and leaving the key in the on position that the main relay remains cycling and there is an electrical hum in the DME. My main question is how likely is that the ECU is dead, and if it is does someone have a 153 DME for sale.
