    Noisy e30 injectors

So I have come to realize that the stock injectors are noisy.

So my question is this, possible upgrade to switch to something else? I remember reading somewhere that the factory injectors run at something like 90-95% duty cycle stock? That is terrible...

So is it just the stock injectors? Or can I put something else in?

Pull A Part has lots of cars :) I hate engine noise :)

Look on ebay, you can getyellow top Ford (Bosch) injectors for cheap. 19lbs/hr in the E30 or slightly more in an E23/E24/E28/E34 (around 20.5 iirc). They also have 4 pintles instead of 1, so they atomize the fuel better. I've got them in my E28 along with a 3.0 bar fpr, they were the first thing I changed on the motor and I believe they have contributed to a smoother idle and better midrange torque.

I suggest the 17.5lb injectors.. I have the 19lb injectors with the M30 AFM and my M20 runs too rich for my taste in the top end. I've been told switching to 17.5lb is best and the 19lbers are a bit too much for the ole' M20.

Interesting. Where can these 17.5lb injectors be sourced?

IE what cars are they in?

FWIW, i run bosch/ford 19# injectors with an M30 AFM and the mark D chip to match... fun stuff for now :)

buuuutttt....... the injectors are still noisy.

throw in some m50 injectors. But ya for a stock engine with mild mods 19lb's are too much. Even on my stroker 19lber's are a bit much, but the maf conversion needed them to keep from running to lean at idle.

M50/S50 engines have the 17.5lb injectors in them. Not sure how noisy they will be since I have not had a chance to get them in yet.

I recently noticed my motor getting loud as fawk, especially when I enter the parking garage at my office. I ran a couple bottles of Seafoam through the bitch and she hushed up dramatically! It's really damn quiet than compared to before.

did you run it through the crankcase, vacuum, fuel, or all three?

I poured one can in the gas tank.

Half a can through the vacuum line.

And half a can in where the oil goes.

So yes, all three. Day and night difference!
