    Replacing Oil Pan Gasket

Does anyone have the procedure on how to do this? Do i need to drop the cross member across it? I searched around and couldnt find anything, any help would be appreciated.

It can be done without dropping the crossmember, but that means tweaking the oil pump out/in with the pan in the way. Once the tie rods are disconnected and an engine brace is supporting the engine the cross member drops right out and you have unrestricted access to the pan and sealing surface.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

getting the oil pump in/out is the least of your worries if you elect to leave the crossmember in place, believe me. It's really rather easy. The oil pressure relief valve is trickier than the oil pump.

If I'd had a hoist to support the motor from above, I'd have dropped the crossmember in a heartbeat. Not because it's difficult to do the pan with it in place (it is) but because I think it would be much safer.

hmm i used an engine crane and supported the engine while i loosened the motor mounts, then i raised the engine and got just enough clearance to remove the pan and change the gasket... there may be an easier way but this works good for me.
