    e30 tune-up kit on eBay

    Hi all,
    I'll probably have to change my timing belt, water pump, gaskets... and all the other doodads that are dealt with at the same time. I was wondering if the kits they sell on eBay are that good a deal?

    Has anyone bought these in the past?

    Thanks in advance,
    Matt

    I'm pretty sure that you could get that cheaper from BavAuto, even though they are typically more expensive. Also, if you order more than $150 (I think), shipping is free! I like BavAuto's service and speed in shipping.

    I would add spark plug wires to that kit, btw (another ~$100)

        Looking over their fleaBay stuff and reading their site, I am impressed. Good parts, great prices, etc...I just will not deal with PayPal or eBay.

        I am going to contact them monday. Looks like BimmerBum might be a great find!

            Well, I added-up Bavauto's prices and it came out to just over $300 for the exact same parts. Nowhere near bimmerbum's retail $470 estimate, but still $50 more than their Buy It Now price. So yea bimmerbum is a good deal than.

            Might give it a try.

                It looks like a good deal. You could save 10-20% if you shopped carefully for the same parts, but it would be easy to spend more.

                Here is my estimate for the best prices

                * Valve cover gasket $7
                * 6 Bosch Super Spark Plugs 6@$1 $6
                * Mahle Air Filter $6
                * Mahle Fuel Filter $10
                * Contitech Timing Belt Kit (includes tensioner) $28
                * 2 Mann Oil Filters $8
                * Upper and Lower Radiator Hoses $10
                $10 each if BMW..
                * Graf Water Pump $35
                * Thermostat with seals (you choose 71, 75, or 80 degree)
                $20
                * Bosch Distributor Cap $50
                * Bosch Distributor Rotor $20
                * 3 Contitech Drive Belts 3@$5 $15

                  I always get tune up parts from pelecanparts.com or bmaparts.com..

                    I mean, you could save probably $20-40 buying everything seperately, but this was just an easier route.

                      Well, I decided to go the Bavauto way since I needed other stuff as well, like ignition wires etc... Bought a complete tune-up kit for about $400. All prices were slightly higher than what DJB listed

                        You can also use a Porsche 959 distributor rotor and cap.....
