So motivated to finish M20 and turbo it.

Ok so cruising with some of my bimmer friends, we hear ricers hurry and flip a bitch in front of them. Two cars, a Galant and a IS300 pass us, The lexus was in the oncoming traffic lane. Me in my slow eta just sat back and watched, where a friends 87 325is picked it up and rushed to catch back up with them. A few things go on they out run us thinking we are some crack heads that they pissed off going 120mph in a 40mph. But anyways Galant had a 3.5 engine swap with a turbo on it, pushing around 360hp at the wheels. The lexus just had intake and Exhaust and it was barely pulling on a e36 325is with a Dinan chip and Custom Exhaust.

Anyways I have so much motivation to complete this engine swap to a m20b25 and the ecu and get a turbo now.

So my questions to all of you.

Since i am already doing a complete rebuild of this m20b25 that i acquired from a parts car, that replaces all the gaskets, bearings, and piston rings, and valve seats/seals. My dad owns a engine rebuilding shop so it is only going to cost me 280$ for everything. But is there anything else i should do while i am at it? Like a mild cam or porting the head? I have slowly collected 6 mustang injectors. So should i bore out the TB and intake mani while i am at it? Buy some headers is on my list of things to do also. I have a exhaust off the parts car that is almost brand new but goes two pipe till the muffler then has a Y adapter and goes out the muffler into another Y adapter to have two tips DTM style. It sounds very grawlinly.

I plan to run N/A till i get enough money saved up to buy everything for the turbo i have it calculated my budget to be around 2000$ that's with 300$ of unexcepted things.

Any suggestions would be great. Sorry for long post, grammer, and spelling.

    Thanks

Maybe a little cam upgrade, but as Corky Bell says in his book, stock cams are generally the best for a turbo system. More duration will move the power up and it will lose that torque blast down low.

Why buy headers if you are going to do a turbo? I'd save the money and start piecing the turbo setup together.

well i wanted to swap in the b25 engine with a 3.25 or 3.73 lsd first to see if i like it, because my friends 325is engine really has some problems and i think he sucks at driving it. and i was thinkin headers just so i could have some power till turbo and the headers wouldn't cost me more then 75$ because my friend builds them all the time for hotrods and some ricers.

I agree with euroshark and mr. deagle. Don't buy the headers even though they are only $75. Save every penny you can to prep the M20 and start piecing the turbo. Just keep your sights on your goal for a M20 turbo and don't waste time and money dicking around with your eta motor.
