    Diff options

Ok, so I hae a 4.11 and I find it's not short enough...

So my question comes is there an even shorter diff I could use ?

I'm sure I could also pull the internals out of the E34/E36/E46 diff ? and that should give some more options?

Hmmm... I'm looking for a diff that I could get locally here in SA.

So I think that motorsport diff is a bit out of my price range...

4.45 u say... nice. I'll see if I can find one.

4.27 and 4.45 in nz, came in auto 320i and 318i. Only seen them is small case diff though. Still, you might get away with a small case. generally sell for less than $100 over here as noone wants them

Thanks man... I'll dig about, the case isn't a problem, I'll just transfer it to a large case.

AFAIK the gearsets from a small case can't be put into a large or med case diff. The small cases still seem to be good for 200 whp or so though, though a shorter diff will be more likely to break an input pinion gear. I'd just give it ago with a small case if you dont have any luck with a short med case
